Description

Palm Beach Atlantic University, Gregory School of Pharmacy invites applications for a 12-month nontenure-track faculty position in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences. The successful candidate should have a PhD in either medicinal chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related biomedical science. A background in pharmacy is optimal but not required. This candidate should have excellent interpersonal skills with evidence of teaching courses in medicinal chemistry to students preferably in a Doctor of Pharmacy program. An appropriate research background should be evident with an expectation to contribute to ongoing research efforts in the department. Candidate must demonstrate a Christian commitment and a willingness to integrate one's faith into teaching and mentorship. This position is available immediately and application review will continue until the position is filled. 

Requirements

EDUCATION:

A Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a closely related discipline is required. Candidates must demonstrate the ability and potential to engage in research and/or scholarly activity.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Demonstrated expertise in pharmaceutical sciences, with specific expertise in medicinal chemistry.
Ability to teach medicinal chemistry and related pharmaceutical science content within a professional pharmacy curriculum, including the application of chemical principles to drug action, structure-activity relationships, drug design, and pharmacotherapy.
Strong critical-thinking skills and the ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of educational and research teams.
Ability to organize complex chemical, scientific, and professional content and develop instructional strategies that make the material accessible, understandable, and relevant to pharmacy practice.
Prior teaching experience at the collegiate or professional-school level is preferred.
Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and to service within the School, University, profession, and broader community.
Demonstrated commitment to the Christian faith and the ability to meaningfully integrate faith and learning into coursework and interactions with students.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, administrators, and other healthcare and scientific professionals.
Proficiency with commonly used technology and software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as electronic, internet-based, and other educational and professional resources.
