Description
The Manager of Home Infusion Pharmacy Services is responsible for the management of personnel, operations, informatics, and regulatory compliance of the Home Infusion Pharmacy Services line. The manager is the senior clinical leader for the department. The manager oversees work standards, competencies, education, work schedules, inventory, budgeting, financial statements, and workflow for the department The manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with multiple accreditations and expanding business growth and development of the reporting service line. As a member of the Leadership Team, the manager contributes to departmental oversight, teamwork, and strategy under the leadership of the Director of Outpatient Pharmacy Services. The Manager of Home Infusion Pharmacy Services works with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement programs and services in support of the organization’s mission and strategic plan.
Requirements
Minimum Education Graduate of accredited school of pharmacy
Minimum Experience Two years’ pharmacy supervisory experience
Required Registration/License/Certification Licensed Pharmacist in the State of Alabama Active and clear Registered Pharmacist license and Controlled Substance Permit from the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy
Preferred Education PGY1 Residency (Acute Care, Ambulatory Care, Specialty Pharmacy, Home Infusion)
Preferred Experience Two years’ Home Infusion supervisory experience Two years’ work experience in Home Infusion setting Two years’ work experience in Specialty Pharmacy setting Two years’ work experience in Infusion or Acute Care setting
Preferred Registration/License/Certification Parenteral Certification issued by the Alabama Board of Pharmacy
Other Requirements Strong knowledge of infusion therapies (antibiotics, biologics, immune globulins, etc.), infection control, and emergency response procedures. Comprehensive understanding of USP standards, accreditation requirements, and state and federal regulations related to pharmacy and home infusion services. Working knowledge of revenue cycle processes, including insurance verification, prior authorization, medical coding and billing, and payment reconciliation. Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office applications Commitment to professional development by attending continuing education conferences, webinars, and completing CEUs related to Home Infusion Pharmacy Services. Demonstrated excellence in organization, written and verbal communication, teamwork, problem solving, time management, and adaptability. Strong business acumen with advanced time management and critical thinking skills. Performs other Home Infusion operational duties as required to support departmental goals and organizational initiatives.
