Description
The Vice President, Economic Analysis and Market Research leads APA’s economic and market research, serving as the association’s housing and market expert for research and analysis. The VP will serve as the principal market expert on APA member products and their end-use applications, providing unbiased and independent analysis to internal and external stakeholders.
The incumbent serves as the public voice detailing the macroeconomic and market forces impacting the wood products industry and the role engineered wood products play in affordable and resilient residential and commercial buildings. In this role, the VP manages APA’s industry production reporting, develop market outlooks, and leads the development and launch of new data products.
Requirements
EDUCATION
Master's degree in Economics, Marketing, or MBA.
Terminal degree in Economics or related field preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES
Minimum of 5 – 7 years of work experience in data-intensive macroeconomic research environment, preferably within the housing industry.
Curious and capable of using data to frame narratives projecting the demand for housing and engineered wood products.
Knowledge and background in demographics, policy analysis regarding total builder costs, etc., that affect sales, marketing, distribution and end uses of engineered wood and forest products manufactured by APA members.
Creative entrepreneur with excellent written and verbal communication skills; considerable skill in the use of social media.
