Description
The Department of Pharmacology in the School of Medicine at the University of Virginia invites applications for two open rank tenured/tenure-track faculty positions. We are seeking candidates working at the forefront of drug development, mechanisms of drug action, and novel pharmacological approaches, and who bring these tools to bear on fundamental and exciting questions in biology. Successful candidates will join a highly collaborative faculty and have opportunities to build on departmental strengths in metabolism, chemical biology, immunology, cardiovascular and respiratory physiology, and neuroscience.
Requirements
Successful applicants will have earned a PhD, MD, or MD/PhD, completed a minimum of three years of postdoctoral training, and demonstrated excellence in research with a strong potential of developing innovative research programs that can attract sustained extramural funding. Tenure status and rank of the position depend on qualifications. For appointment with tenure, candidates should have established a nationally reputable, well-funded research program with a track record of high-impact publications.
