Position Overview:
Presbyterian College School of Pharmacy (PCSP) invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Pharmacology / Biomedical Sciences with preferred start date of July-August 2026. We are seeking an innovative and collaborative educator who is passionate about teaching and committed to advancing scholarship within a supportive and collegial environment. The successful candidate will join a dedicated team of faculty who are shaping the next generation of pharmacists through high-quality education.
Teaching Responsibilities:
Teach biomedical science topics in the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) curriculum and collaborate in team-taught courses.
Develop and deliver engaging, student-centered learning experiences that foster critical thinking and application of biomedical science concepts.
Contribute to the B.S. in Pharmaceutical Sciences coursework and PharmD elective courses as assigned by the department chair.
Scholarship Expectations:
Engage in scholarly activity that aligns with the mission of PCSP and advances the field of biomedical science.
Contribute to the scientific community through research and publication.
Pursue research opportunities through the South Carolina IDeA Networks of Biomedical Research Excellence (SC INBRE) and internal grants for seed funding. Pursuit of external funding is also encouraged.
Mentor students in research projects and engage in collaborative scholarship with colleagues, as appropriate.
Service Responsibilities:
Actively participate in departmental, School, and College committees.
Advise Doctor of Pharmacy students in their academic and professional development.
Represent PC in professional or scientific organizations at local, regional, and/or national levels.
Engage with local communities through professional service and outreach.
Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in pharmacology or other biomedical science is required.
A strong commitment to teaching excellence and student success.
Demonstrated ability to engage in scholarly activity.
Preference will be given to candidates with educational backgrounds in pharmacology from a school or college of pharmacy.
Willingness to participate in professional development for teaching and scholarly growth.
